KT’10SI Participants:

Welcome!  We’re looking forward to a great intensive again this year and are so pleased that you will be joining us.  Below is some information you may find useful.  There will probably be updates from time to time as the beginning of the summer intensive nears.  Do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.

•    Because the first class begins at 8:30am on Monday the 19th, it would be wise for those utilizing the dorm to check in on the 18th.

•    We are planning a meeting at 7:00pm at the dorm on the 18th.  Those of you who are staying elsewhere are invited to attend.  We will be making introductions, going through the information packet, going over the schedule, and answering questions.  The faculty and hopefully, many of you will be there.

•    To those of you who are flying in, send us your itinerary so that we can arrange to have you picked up.  One or more of our company members or a Friend of KTd, Inc. will be making airport/train, etc. runs.

•    If you’re staying in the dorm and did not purchase the linen package, you’ll need to bring bedding, towels, etc.  We’ll try to have some items available for you to borrow, but you may prefer your own pillow, etc.  The beds are twin size.  Also, you may still purchase the linen package if you want.  The price is $10.

•    Current information will be sent via Facebook.  If you aren’t already a friend of Kista Tucker, ask to be one.  Also, you can join the “Friends of Kista Tucker Dance, Inc.” group.

•    There will be a two-hour chat on the morning of the 25th.  We hope you can join us.  It’s a chance to say goodbye, plan new directions, discuss the concert, and have a good time.

•    The repertory class(es) will perform in the concert Saturday evening. Bring a set of “blacks” in case they are needed for the concert.

•    Depending on the weather, the dance floors can be sticky.  Bring cotton socks—they can always be removed.  Some of the studios at Brockport are air-conditioned, some are not.  Be prepared for temperature variations.  The theater is air-conditioned—the audience really appreciates this.  Sometimes the dancers do, too.

•    We recommend that you bring a notebook.

•    If you have a work that you’d like to have performed in the concert, send a video so that it can be screened.  Invite your friends (more info to follow).

•    There will be a list of places to eat and obtain food while you’re here.

•    A map of the campus, the locations of the dorm and of Hartwell Hall (where the classes and the concert will be held) will be posted on our website by the end of next week. http://KistaTucker.com

•    Begin thinking about topics you’d like to discuss in the “Issues in Dance” course.

•    There’s going to be a T-Shirt design contest.  It will be announced on Monday, the 5th  on Facebook.

Again, do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.  We’re looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time.
